The HTB-3100 is sold as an A+B pair: one unit at each end of a single fibre strand converts a normal 10/100Mbps Ethernet cable connection to fibre and back again. It is a simple, low-cost way to run a network link much further than copper allows.

How the A+B pair works

The A and B units transmit and receive on different wavelengths over the same fibre core, so you only need one fibre per link. Plug the fibre into the SC port on each unit, connect your switch, router or camera to the RJ45 port, power both units, and the link comes up automatically.
