Check the Onten OTN-E921 cable tester price in BD on this page. A cable tester tells you whether every wire in a network or phone cable is connected correctly. The OTN-E921 checks RJ45 and RJ11 cables and has a detachable remote, so it works on short patch cords and on long cables already installed through walls.

Key features

• Tests RJ45 network and RJ11 telephone cables
• Detachable remote unit for testing installed runs
• Gold-plated test ports for reliable contact
• Powered by Micro USB or a standard battery

What it helps you find

• Open wires that are not connected
• Shorts between wires
• Crossed or mis-wired pairs
• Bad crimps on new cables

How to test

1. Plug one end of the cable into the main unit.
2. Plug the other end into the remote, or at the far wall outlet.
3. Switch on and watch the LEDs light in sequence on both units.
4. Matching numbers in order means the cable is wired correctly.

Who it is for

Network and CCTV installers, office IT staff, ISP technicians and anyone who crimps cables. Testing before installation saves time hunting faults later.

Tip

Label the remote end location when testing installed cables, and combine the tester with a tone tracer such as the Noyafa NF-8209S when you need to find which cable is which in a bundle.
