A standard online UPS has a small built-in battery that covers only a short outage. When the power cuts last for hours, the battery bank has to be larger. The EH55-H1KS leaves out the internal batteries and adds a stronger charger so that external batteries can be recharged in a reasonable time. The UPS accepts 110V to 300V AC input at 50/60 Hz and delivers a regulated 208/220/230/240V AC output with ±1% accuracy. The load runs from the inverter at all times, so surges, dips and frequency changes on the mains do not reach it, and the transfer to battery takes 0 milliseconds. In AC mode, overloads are carried in stages, for example 30 minutes at 102 to 110% load.
